TYSON'S TACOS

TYSON'S S-1000

In order to meet customer demand Tyson's Tacos needs a larger smoker, a much larger smoker. Something that can handle many large slabs of meat, and continuous 24/7 operation. Still a work in progress, this unique smoker is designed around a 1000 gallon propane bottle with a flue intersecting the body in such a way that maximizes airflow. The Tyson's S-1000 more than quadruples the volume of its predecessor, while maintaining the same wood consumption rate. The S-1000 features a double-walled firebox design which helps insulate the heat from its surroundings. This smoker contributes to the customer experience of enjoying Texas smoked meats by increasing meat output to meet demand, and maintaining the same food quality as its predecessor.

CARBON FIBER FILAMENT SPOOL

Made from two of the same symmetrical part, this consumable product holds carbon fiber filament for the FIBER team's 3D printer. Designed to be plastic injection molded, the spool is built from two of the same symmetrical part that snap fit together, allowing for only one mold for tooling.

FIBER MACHINE PRINT BED LEVELING DISK

Large notches on the side of the disk mark 5mm up or down for leveling a corner of the print bed, small notches mark 1mm. This part makes precisely leveling the bed of the FIBER machine easy, with commands for how much adjustment to each corner needed displayed in mm's on the screen of the printer after a leveling-check function.

METAL POWDER CIRCULATION SYSTEM

Using a powder vacuum pump to promote slug flow of metal powder, this machine takes waste metal powder from Desktop Metal's Single Pass Jetting (SPJ) system filling a tank placed underneath the pump. This machine reduces downtime by removing the process of extracting the full overflow banks within the SPJ machines autonomously, this makes managing metal powder much easier. Four SPJ machines can be connected to feed the Recirculation machine.

BUILD BOX HOOKING TOOL

This unique tool is used to remove "Build Boxes" out of the SPJ systems. Build boxes are where prints lie after printing, and are full of metal powder, weighing upwards of 90 Kg when full. This tool allows printers to move the build box onto a staging cart that can then transport the build box to the next machine in the printing process.

VICE STAND

Born from a quick post-it note sketch from a manager, this vice stand is made from welded steel tubing. From start to finish this project took one day.

DRAGON RUNNER 20 SHIPPING CASE

Using layered foam cutouts, this case manages to pack the Dragon Runner 20 robot, controller, radio, spare extended tracks, accessories, and spare batteries into one case. The previous shipping configuration used two cases to fit all necessary components, this single case fits all the same components.

DRAGON RUNNER 10 MODULAR ATTACHMENT KIT

In order to attach a series of sensors for HAZMAT use the Dragon Runner 10 robot needed additional mounting locations. To achieve this, a sheet metal part was designed that mounts to the rear of the robot. This kit involves moving the robot's antennae locations since it attaches above the original antennae locations.

SALT CAVERN MODELING & PRINTING

Collaborated with Sonar and Chemical Engineers to transform sonar data of underground salt caverns into scaled 3D models for use in meetings with clients. Used Python scripts and Excel macros to transform sonar data into AutoCAD scripts, creating 3D models of underground salt caverns. 3D printed cavern models as unique gifts for clients using FormLabs 3D printers
